Life on the Homestead: Snow, Sewing, and other Creative Endeavours

Writer: Chelsea CraddockChelsea Craddock

Hey everyone! Winter has finally rolled in and our homestead is looking like a dreamy winter wonderland, all wrapped up in a cozy blanket of snow for almost a week now. There's something magical about the first snowfall that makes everything feel special and encourages us to take a breather and enjoy the little things.

With the chill in the air and life outside slowing down, I've found myself diving into all my creative projects. The long evenings are perfect for sewing, designing, and writing. Everything feels a bit more meaningful during this cozy season.

Winter Wonderland and Life on the Homestead

While my mom and I hang out indoors, my husband and dad are out having a blast in the snow, plowing driveways and keeping the boats afloat. The snow falling outside shifts the vibe at home, replacing the usual hustle with a peaceful hum of creativity. There’s something comforting about staying inside, bundled up in warm layers while the world sparkles outside.

The last few weeks, I’ve been focused on our latest Valentines Edit, featuring some gorgeous new colors: Lavender, Blush, and Rouge. These soft pastels are inspired by the upcoming spring, pretty flowers, and of course looooove.

Fun with YouTube: A Creative Collaboration

On another note, I’ve been helping my husband with his YouTube channel. We’ve been sharing our adventures on beautiful Quadra Island for around a year now. Its always fun to see the footage he takes of the ocean, especially now when its frozen and covered in snow.

Fashion Favorites for Cozy Winter Days

As we embrace the winter vibes, my go-to outfit has been the ALETEO shorts and FACIL top. They’re super comfy yet stylish, perfect for sewing, reading, or just enjoying a chill afternoon by the fire. Which, our woodstove has been working overtime in these freezing days. It is our only source of heat and it has been a MVP this season.

A Peek into Summer Dreams

Even though winter’s still got our life on the homestead in its grip, I can’t help but dream about summer!

My team and I are currently playing around with swimwear designs and can’t wait to show you what’s coming out of the sewing room.

Stay tuned for our upcoming summer swim collection, packed with playful and chic pieces that capture all the fun of summer adventures and are flattering, comfortable and confidence boosting.
